Hōhepa has strong links within his iwi in Te Hiku o te Ika, is a kaikōrero, kaikarakia, and kairomiromi for his people. He is a champion in te reo, well versed in tikanga and is a trained, qualified teacher with over 20 years experience. He is also an accomplished artist who specialises in whakairo, as well as an author, poet and lyricist.
