The first exhibition featured the work of carver, artist and designer, Bernard Makaore. With the second exhibition showcasing the works of our 2021 Tai o Hī Tai o Hā kāhui. The exhibition, housed initially at the Hihiaua Cultural Centre, also featured the works of ringatoi who had worked alongside the taiohi
Hē Kākāriki Pōwhaitere is the current exhibition of works by the 2023 Tai o Hī Tai o Hā kāhui. The Tai o Hī Tai o Hā wānanga series and exhibition were designed and curated by Pou Kaupapa, Bethany Matai Edmunds. These future creative leaders of Ngāpuhi-nui-tonu articulate their relational understandings of toi and taiao, placing themselves as the vessel through which mana taiao is expressed in te ao mārama. He Kākāriki Pōwhaitere stands on the legacy of those who have come before and makes way for new possibilities, for the radical imaginings of an abundant and regenerative tomorrow.
