An acknowledgement of taonga tuku iho shared within the Tai o Hī Tai o Hā wānanga and the respective mātanga. Te Kokomea can be considered as a whakatauāki - recalling the significance of taiao in understanding ancestral connections to materials, techniques and knowledge that form these living and enduring traditions.

Rongomai Grbic-Hoskins
(Ngāti Hau, Ngāti Hao, Ngāti Pakahi, Ngāti Moroki, Ngāpuhi, Te Rarawa)

Rongomai is a multi-disciplinary artist who works across visual arts, photography and illustration - both digital and analogue. Her interest in the creative arts was cultivated through her upbringing and continued at university with a Bachelor’s in Communication Design.

Since then, she’s been focused on Māori centred curatorial and research practices in the world of museums and galleries.
