TUIA KI TE RANGI, TUIA KI TE WHENUA, TUIA KI TE MOANA. E RONGO TE PŌ. E RONGO TE AO.

Nothing in this world is separate - we are all part of the great tapestry of life. We are all part of our taiao, our environment, and must in turn take care of it - “Ko au ko te taiao, ko te taiao ko au.”

These three pieces are inspired by three manu of great significance in Te Ao Māori. The Huia, represents Rangi; the kākāpō, represents whenua; and the Kuaka, represent moana.

HUIA is a single hair pin, it’s shape references the beak of the Huia. "Ka tangi te huia, ka hinga te totara." - When the huia cries, the totara tree falls. Symbolizing the interconnectedness of nature and the impact of loss.
